Synopsis:
Arata Asaoka lives a suffocating existence within a household ruled by his father and elder brother—men consumed by a toxic, extreme misogyny. As an illegitimate child, Arata is treated as little more than a second-class citizen, enduring years of cruelty and cold indifference from his own flesh and blood. He hides his searing inner pain behind a forced smile, playing the part of a happy young man whenever outsiders are watching.
The only beacon of hope in Arata’s darkened world is Koharu Hinomoto. To him, Koharu is like a radiant sun; in her presence, he finally finds a reason to live. Deeply in love, Arata dreams of moving out to build a modest, happy life with her. Despite his lack of money, he believes their bond can overcome any obstacle. He is desperate to escape this “house of beasts” before the depravity within can ruin everything.
However, fate proves to be cruel. The “beasts” wearing the masks of his family members have already set their predatory sights on Koharu. A devastating tragedy begins to unfold within the very walls Arata calls “home,” threatening to extinguish his only light forever.
